What No One Tells You About the Ups and Downs of Being an Artist.

My goal with this block is to take you along for a peek behind the canvas — the ups, the downs, and the pivotal moments that shape my journey as an artist and as Jonas. I want to be honest with myself and, as I reflect, share with you the chaos I feel with every step I take on this, let’s be honest, incredibly nerve‑wracking art journey.

Being an artist is a huge privilege, full of freedom, but it also comes with immense instability — not just financially, but in the constant pressure to show up, deliver, and find meaning in everything I create. You can never fully lower your shoulders; if I do, it all stops. Some days the price feels overwhelming, yet there are moments of pure joy and exhilaration — moments I know we can only reach when we put everything on the line and succeed.

Is it scary? Absolutely. Is it worth it? I promised you honesty: some days yes, other days I’m not sure.
